Ogilvy PR Hong Kong hires John Stauffer as regional strategy director

Stauffer has relocated to the Hong Kong office from Ogilvy Washington DC in the United States. He was formerly the digital influence strategist for multinational clients like IBM and DuPont.

Stauffer specialises in social media, word of mouth marketing and the B2B sectors. He will report to Thomas Crampton, Asia-Pacific director of 360 Digital Influence (360DI) at Ogilvy PR.

According to Stauffer, he will focus on brand planning and program execution in local markets. He will also lead the social media training program.

Stauffer has been in the public relations and communications industry since the start of his career. He joined the WPP network in 2008 and also founded the curriculum for social media unit 360DI.

This is the second hire for the social media team at Ogilvy PR Hong Kong in a month. Scott McBride came on board as the regional business director in June.

Crampton said they are expanding the digital team very rapidly this year, especially on the social media field. "We are better, faster and stronger now," he said. Crampton said 360DI has flown in 40 senior digital people from the region to Hong Kong for a meeting last week.

"This scale proves a big commitment of Ogilvy PR to continue investing in digital and training talents," he said.
