Ogilvy PR makes regional leadership promotions

ASIA-PACIFIC - Ogilvy Public Relations (Ogilvy PR) reshuffles three senior positions within its Asia-Pacific management team after appointing Scott Kronick as regional president and CEO. All new roles take effect in January.

Debby Cheung, Andrew Thomas and Kieran Moore all take on new posts within the group, broadening their roles and focusing their leadership attention on staff and clients in the Asia Pacific region.

Debby Cheung, currently group managing director of Ogilvy PR China and president of Ogilvy & Mather (O&M) Shanghai steps up to president of Ogilvy PR, China/Hong Kong.

As a twenty-three year Ogilvy PR veteran, Cheung take on her new role in January 2014, while continuing her position as O&M Shanghai president, a post she's held for the past two years. Cheung’s expertise lies in corporate, consumer and crisis communications, with specific crisis experience for clients across a spectrum of industries including food, oil and retail. 

Cheung has spent her entire career in China/Hong Kong and should be an adept fit for the MD role in both markets.

Andrew Thomas, currently regional director of Ogilvy PR Southeast Asia becomes president of Ogilvy PR Southeast Asia with additional responsibility for Ogilvy PR’s leadership in India. 

Thomas joined Ogilvy PR's Singapore office in 2005 with the goal of growing the firm into a market leader. Since 2010 Thomas managed the buildup of a number of regional businesses and specialised in crisis management counsel and media coaching for Asia-based executives. 

Prior to joining Ogilvy PR, Thomas brought more than two decades of experience in the publishing industry, most notably at the International Herald Tribune in South Asia.  

Kieran Moore, CEO of Ogilvy PR Australia, will take on a broader role as regional director of talent. She’ll head company efforts to attract engage and retain talent as well as drive strategy and lead the firm’s regional initiatives.

Kronick, who takes over as President and CEO of Ogilvy PR Asia Pacific starting in January, said, “I’ve had the honor of working closely with these three colleagues and the four of us will join together to form a stronger and even more focused regional management operation”.
