Staff at the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) raised over USD$25,000 through a fundraiser held as part of its programme for the 2010 Singapore Grand Prix. This is the second successful year of fundraising held during the GP week by RBS, a sponsor of the AT&T Williams team.
The funds go to Singapore-based Mercy Relief to assist in delivering relief supplies to the areas worst affected by the Pakistan floods and by East Bali Poverty Project (EBPP) to purchase construction materials for more than a hundred families residing in mountain areas of East Bali.
Hülkenberg and Stewart presented a cheque to Satwat Singh, director of Mercy Relief. They also met staff who contributed through a raffle draw and presented prizes to the lucky winners which included a Formula One driver’s helmet and an F1 driver’s visor signed by AT&T Williams drivers Hülkenberg and Barrichello.
“The Singapore Grand Prix is an important event where RBS can use our sponsorship programme to benefit the local community,” said Muhammad Aurangzeb, country manager for RBS in Singapore.
