BEIJING - Saatchi & Saatchi China's head of planning Dean Sciole (pictured) has been promoted to the post of ECD of Saatchi & Saatchi Beijing, replacing Steven Cheng, who resigned from the agency.

Saatchi & Saatchi Beijing replaces ECD
Sciole will report to Edmund Choe, chief creative officer for Greater China, and Charles Sampson, CEO Saatchi & Saatchi Beijing, and will work on key accounts including Lexus, Hewlett-Packard, IKEA and Mengniu.

The appointment extends Sciole’s 15-year relationship with the agency, which began in 1994 in Taiwan. He has since spent stints in offices such as Singapore, where he worked on the regional account for HP. He later moved to China to assume the post of strategic planner, and became of the founders of XploringTM, Saatchi’s division that analyses consumer insights.

“I am a passionate believer in consumer-driven ideas, and an equally passionate believer that ideas should live everywhere, regardless of the medium,” Sciole said of his aspirations as ECD. “Only then will we truly wed creativity and effectiveness in what we do.”
