Ad management company Sizmek has appointed Kees de Jong as general manager of APAC operations as it moves to a "general manager-defined" structure intended to promote nimble and entrepreneurial decision-making at the local level.

In 2011, de Jong was the first employee in Australia for GroupM's Xaxis. He played a key role in defining the company's offering and building a team of 18 over two years. Since then he has acted as a consultant for media owners, data, technology and TV companies in the areas of programmatic TV and data-enabled media strategies. Earlier, he held senior management positions at Facilitate Digital (now Adslot) in Australia, and ran the company’s European operations for two years.

“The APAC market is changing rapidly, and it’s critical to be able to demonstrate innovation and better solve clients’ business problems,” de Jong said in a release. “A one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work, and that strategy rarely satisfies customers at scale.”

In addition, Sizmek announced that Volker Hatz will join the company as its global chief data officer. He was previously global head of SAP XM DMP Solution at SAP Exchange Media.

Sizmek has 13 offices in the Asia-Pacific region, including Sydney, Singapore, Beijing, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bangkok and Cebu. In August last year Sizmek was purchased by US private-equity firm Vector Capital for US$122 million.
