Tourism Bureau of Kaohsiung City makes PR push in Hong Kong

HONG KONG - After being appointed as a PR agency partner for Tourism Bureau of Kaohsiung City (TBKC) in Hong Kong in Q2, Fleishman Hillard is charged to help the Bureau to lure more Hong Kong tourists to the harbour city for a holiday.

Tourism Bureau of Kaohsiung City makes PR push in Hong Kong

Fleishman Hong Kong’s spokesperson said the selling point for Kaosiung is that there are more than 80 direct flights from Hong Kong to city with a journey time of slightly over an hour. “Taiwan is one of the most popular short-haul destinations for Hong Kong people with many of them having travelled to Taipei on several occassions. So it would be good for them to explore a different part of Taiwan, especially Kaosiung which is authentically Taiwanese and very laid-back compared to Taipei,” the spokesperson said.

TBKC has appointed as its global brand ambassador Taiwanese pop-rock band May Day, which will be in Hong Kong on 10 June to attend a media event intended to spread the word about the dynamic culture and characteristics of Kaohsiung.

Kaohsiung is second most populated city in Taiwan after Taipei and is known for its harbour and is also known as the Harbour Capital (港都) of Taiwan.

This account adds to Fleishman Hong Kong's extensive PR experience in the travel and tourism sector. In the past it has worked on the Venetian Macau, City of Dream, Sands Macau and was also the global PR agency for Hyatt Hotels.
