HONG KONG - Vince Viola, well known in the region for his time at McCann and The Media Village has joined Addition+, a programmatic media company, as MD for Asia.

In his new role, Viola will be rolling out a series of new generation strategy tools to advertisers across the region, using technology and data science to support advertising planning processes.

Viola's most recent job was director and founding partner of The Media Village, a branded content company with offices in Hong Kong and Melbourne, since April 2014.

Prior to that, he was executive vice president and managing director of McCann Hong Kong for a good 15 years, where he led integrated marketing for Cathay Pacific across 27 markets. In addition, he managed McCann's Asia-Pacific multinational account hub for other clients including Coca-Cola, Marriott Hotels and Microsoft.

Addition+ launched in Asia in early 2016 – offering advertisers a media planning and buying system that is touted to combine the best in media strategy with insightful data and computer science – enabling support for highly-targeted, multi-platform advertising solutions across multiple platforms and devices.

Update: In an earlier version of this article, it was stated that Viola was replacing Rupert Harrow in the role of MD of Asia-Pacific. Addition+ have since clarified that Harrow's role and Viola's role were distinctly different and that Viola' position is newly created.

Harrow, who left the company in March, was managing director of business development, which was primarily a sales position, explained Jacqui Wallis, Addition+ MD in London.
