SHANGHAI - Lee Kum Kee has appointed WE Marketing as its digital agency following a competitive pitch to handle its social media and seasonal creative campaigns in China.

WE Marketing sauces up digital business with Lee Kum Kee in China

The Hong Kong-based manufacturer of sauces and condiments selected WE because of its in-depth knowledge of digital marketing and creative thinking, and its strength in strategically and proactively leveraging existing resources in e-commerce, mobile and social media.

"We are excited to finally find an agency that can combine these skills, as our previous digital agency doesn't know much about social media,” said Jacquelyn Wu, Lee Kum Kee's global marketing director of brand & communication.

“Lee Kum Kee is continuously reinventing themselves even though it is a 100-year-old company," Viveca Chan, chairman and CEO of WE Marketing Group commented. "It will give us a great opportunity to showcase how this iconic lifestyle brand can continue its breakthroughs with digital marketing campaigns."

WE Marketing will focus on social-media engagement on major Chinese platforms. "The client's ambition to go social is our challenge to create raving and loyal fans,” added Hugo Chan, executive director of WE’s digital operations.

In addition, OgilvyOne takes care of the digital creative and brand management for Lee Kum Kee, whose media account is currently under Optimedia Shanghai.
