Van Pelt has also taken on the role of global lead for LG Electronics, which Y&R handles in more than 55 markets.

Having been based in Seoul for three years, Van Pelt now has the responsibility of expanding the agency in what is described by Y&R as a key growth market.

Aside from LG, major clients for the agency include Japan Tourism and Boehringer-Ingelheim. One important growth strategy will be to assist domestic companies in developing their business in overseas markets.

In a statement, global chief executive of Y&R David Sable said Van Pelt had “the enthusiasm and entrepreneurial spirit to create the kinds of partnerships, joint ventures and acquisitions that will make Y&R Korea a strong presence in the market”.
