Watch Campaign's live 'Asia's Top 1000 Brands' breakdown

Campaign's editors shared highlights from this year's brand survey in a Facebook Live event Friday.

As part of the launch of the 2017 edition of the Asia's Top 1000 Brands research, Campaign's Hong Kong editorial team took to Facebook Live last Friday (June 16).

Lasting close to an hour, the event was hosted by Campaign Asia-Pacific head of content Robert Sawatzky, and featured opinions from online editor Matthew Miller, deputy editor Olivia Parker, and reporter Soon Chen Kang, with senior reporter Jenny Chan and video journalist Rick Boost working behind the scenes.

Among the subjects discussed were Samsung's ongoing battle with Apple, the fortunes of credit-card providers and travel companies, Coca-Cola's return to the top 10, and the evolution of sports marketing in Asia. In addition to studying the findings of this year's report, Miller also provided a detailed explanation of the Top 1000 site's functionality, including search functions and the ability to compare brands in a number of ways.

Asia's Top 1000 Brands is the annual product of a collaboration between Campaign Asia-Pacific and Nielsen. The 2017 survey has shone a light on consumer attitudes in 13 markets across Asia: Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Though the YouTube upload of the broadcast is at a relatively low resolution, you can watch the original broadcast in high definition on our Facebook page (skip to 10:50 to get straight to the opening of the broadcast).
