Adam O’Conor steps up as CEO of Ogilvy Group Hong Kong

HONG KONG - Ogilvy & Mather today announced the promotion of Adam O’Conor to the newly created role of chief executive officer of the Ogilvy Group in Hong Kong, effective immediately.

Adam O’Conor steps up as CEO of Ogilvy Group Hong Kong

O'Conor was previously Ogilvy & Mather Advertising's managing director in Hong Kong, a post he held for three years.

Reporting to Paul Heath, CEO of Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific, O'Conor will take over the day-to-day operations of the Hong Kong agency.

Heath said he is confident that O'Conor's mix of experience will help the team continue to grow in strength across all disciplines and ensure the group plays a pivotal role as one of its major hub markets in Asia.

"Adam's skill set and depth of knowledge working across disciplines is multidimensional. He has a proven track record when it comes to new business and has demonstrated strong leadership during difficult times," said he.

O'Conor led the agency to the significant win and launch of the Shangri-la campaign, the agencies flagship account for the group and one of Asia's leading luxury and global brands.

Commenting on his appointment, he said, "I'm delighted to be taking on the challenge at this time in Ogilvy Hong Kong's evolution. We have a great management team and some real momentum. Last year the market was chaotic and challenging but we won our way through it."

O'Conor's career began as a graduate trainee at Ogilvy & Mather in London, working across the Jaguar and Disney portfolios before moving to CDP where he handled the Honda business working with Johnny Hornby. In 2006, he moved to Hong Kong and took on the role of managing director in 2007.
