Launched early this month, the financial services corporation also celebrates the country’s 46th National Day through an online campaign, entitled ‘Snap you Singapore!’.

A photo contest that asks “Why/what fans love about Singapore?”, the one-month campaign is targeted at building a fan base that directly contributes to American Express' objective of building an engaging online community over the long run.

It calls Facebook users to enter the photo contest that resonates with the patriotic sentiment of Singaporeans and people residing in Singapore.

It is designed to be viral in nature and participants are able to share the contest and the photos they submit, while at the same time inviting their friends to vote for their entries.

American Express is using mainly Facebook banner ads and sponsored stories to promote the launch and the photo contest. It also informs its clients about the launch of Facebook page through eDMs.

The contest will close on 26 August, while the results of two prizes – a grand prize and a 'people’s choice' award – will be announced on 6 September.
