Originally published in Vietnam, Barcode’s Singapore edition becomes the second lifestyle magazine to be unveiled in the market this month. Billionaire.com, an online publication aimed at the mega rich, also recently announced the launch of a monthly print title, Billionaire.

IMV, which also publishes luxury titles Robb Report and Luxury Guide, describes Barcode as a monthly lifestyle publication “that seeks to amuse and entertain.” The publication targets male and female readers aged 20 to 28 and features content on fashion, dining, beauty and wellness, entertainment and travel.

“Singapore is both traditional and cosmopolitan," the publisher stated in a press release. "Food is our cultural mediator and fashion is our voice. In light of that, fashion and dining will serve as the magazine’s core content.”

“We are delighted to bring a quality lifestyle publication to Singapore,” said Michael von Schlippe, president at IMV. “Barcode is the companion of the individual, where the intellectually curious and the socially aware meet. Our team of creative and imaginative individuals backed by a pool of local contributors will ensure a quality print for our readers.”

In an interview with Campaign Asia-Pacific earlier this month, Billionaire co-founder Christian Barker described a “consistent demand” from advertisers that he predicted would be “ongoing and robust."

According to Price Waterhouse Coopers, in 2015 the magazine industry will record 0.2 per cent year-on-year growth as overall digital gains outweigh falling print revenue. In 2018, total magazine revenue will reach US$98.1 billion, up from US$97.1 billion in 2013.
