The move marks the formal entry of the agency into mainland China. The market has until now been serviced from Hong Kong, where the network opened an office last year.

BlueCurrent Beijing will be led by Angela Fu (pictured) as vice-president. Fu has 16 years’ experience in the PR industry. The agency will offer a combination of search and social media strategy with traditional communications.

According to a statement from the company, services will include brand communications, crisis management, consumer marketing via web-based channels, SEO, media relations, content creation and distribution, influencer identification and tracking and community management.

A subsidiary of Fleishman-Hillard, BlueCurrent opened its first Asian office in Tokyo in 2006. Lynne Anne Davis, Fleishman-Hillard’s resgional president, said the agency would focus on helping companies “execute integrated strategies to get real business results”.
