Brand Rapport tasked with PR and marketing for Asia Pacific Golf Confederation

SINGAPORE - The Asia Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) has retained Brand Rapport to manage international media and PR services for the event which takes place in Japan later this year.

The sports marketing specialists have also been tasked with developing a local promotional campaign to drive attendance at Asia's leading amateur golf tournament, which will be held in Japan this year.

Colin Phillips, honorary secretary of the APGC, commented: "Brand Rapport illustrated their expertise, value and professionalism at last year's championship and we are very happy that they are on board again this year."

He added, "Their knowledge of the media and PR landscape in the region, experience with golf tournaments in Japan, and understanding of the event made them the sound choice for the role." 

Dan Parr, associate director at Brand Rapport, says that he is thrilled to be working on this event. "The Asian Amateur Championship plays a pivotal role in the development of the game throughout Asia Pacific. We're looking forward to continuing a successful partnership and playing our part in further building the reputation of the Asian Amateur Championship."

Brandrapport's parent company QobliQ recently completed the acquisition of Fulford PR, Singapore's leading sports and consumer PR firm. Parr said, "Fulford's addition to our group gives us even more strength across the region, which will help us deliver better results for our all our clients."

The 2010 Asian Amateur Championship will be played at Kasumigaseki Country Club on the outskirts of Tokyo. 

Featuring the top amateur golfers from the 34 member nations of the Asia Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC), the tournament is supported by The R&A and the Masters.
