Burberry's global media review progresses to Asia

HONG KONG - Mediacom is said to be among one of the agencies participating in Burberry's pitch for its APAC media planning and buying business in Hong Kong this week.

Burberry's global media review progresses to Asia

The fashion brand called for a review of its global media account in December last year, with the review process now taking place in Hong Kong.

Incumbent agency Universal McCann has been working with Burberry in Hong Kong and also globally since April 2012.

However, UM has decided not to repitch for the account or be part of the global agency review held in London, without stating reasons.

ZenithOptimedia, Maxus, PHD, Mindshare and Media Palette have also confirmed they are not joining the pitch.

An industry source close to the client said only high-level regional meetings are being held this week, while 'chemistry meetings' at the local level yet to be called.
