Women are marginally in the majority – 52 to 48 – marking a shift from the days when the upper echelons of the profession were disproportionately male.

Notable female marketers were in attendance at Campaign’s photoshoot for the list, including Tesco chief customer officer Alessandra Bellini, Marks & Spencer marketing director (clothing and home) Anna Braithwaite, On The Beach chief marketing and customer officer Zoe Harris, Google senior director of brand and reputation marketing Nishma Robb, British Heart Foundation chief marketing and fundraising officer Claire Sadler and ITV chief marketing officer Jane Stiller.

Others included in the illustrious roll call are  Unilever duo Conny Braams and Aline Santos as well as Procter & Gamble’s Katharine Newby Grant.

This year, the Power 100 welcomed 25 newcomers, up on last year’s 20.
