Cvent acquires Social Tables

Event tech company Cvent has bought Social Tables, an event diagramming, seating, and collaboration platform. Brands including Under Armour, Live Nation, Hyatt, The Venetian, ClubCorp, and Forbes have utilised Social Tables to develop and plan nearly 4.5 million events.

Through the partnership, Cvent enables improved collaboration between venues and partners. Where event planners and venues traditionally manage floor plan design with disparate tools, the acquisition means that customers can now collaborate to create diagrams and renderings in minutes, allowing for real-time edits.

On top of that, planners can visualise event spaces with a more visual and interactive venue sourcing experience. This can also lead to more custom proposals which may result in more group business.

“With Social Tables, we can offer new ways for our event and hospitality customers to work better together to manage events,” said Reggie Aggarwal, CEO and founder of Cvent. “We’ve known and respected Dan [CEO and Founder of Social Tables] since the inception of Social Tables, and we are extremely excited to welcome him and the rest of the Social Tables team to the Cvent family."
