Salesforce has merged social-media management platform Buddy Media with social CRM offering Radian6 to form end-to-end offering Marketing Cloud. Michael Lazerow, founder of Buddy Media, has been appointed CMO of Salesforce Marketing Cloud while Ken Mandel, formerly managing director of Buddy Media Asia-Pacific, will retain his title in the new entity. The new offering aims to unify social listening, content, engagement, advertising, workflow, automation and measurement on one platform.

Mediabrands' search and social media agency Reprise Media has promoted Andrew Hughes to innovation and technology director and hired David Coats to fill Hughes' old SEO director post. In this newly created position, Hughes’ focus will be to ensure strong product development and innovation across channels and to resource clients and agency teams with the best use of technology to bring new ideas and approaches to client campaigns.

Digital Jungle has been appointed global digital agency for Cover-More Travel Insurance to assist in the activation of search and social media with Cover-More’s network of partners around the world. The agency will also focus on the brand’s search, social and content marketing strategy, implementation of robust analytics, integration of branded content, existing marketing strategies and development of compelling content.

Snickers' latest China leg of its global campaign features funny persona-switching scenarios, as hungry characters from popular culture, such as the screaming landlady from the movie Kung Fu Hustle and Pigsy from the legend Journey To The West, morph into their human selves. BBDO in Beijing created the online efforts, which tout Snickers' functionality and highlight the 'energy food' product attribute of the brand known better as confectionery.

Fleishman-Hillard has been chosen to provide media relations and communications services for Tink Labs, a company that has introduced a global-first smartphone rental service, 'handy', which provides tourists visiting Hong Kong with unlimited 3G internet services, local and international phone calls to 17 countries and a preloaded local city guide on the same rented device. The agency has developed a "holistic communications programme for Tink Labs, aligning media strategies with their advertising and marketing programmes" in order to promote the 'handy' service to potential merchants in Hong Kong and to tourists from the Greater China region.

Lewis PR has been appointed by Rackspace Hosting, the open cloud company, as its first ever public relations agency of record (AOR) in Hong Kong. The agency will support Rackspace as it expands its presence in Hong Kong and across the Asia-Pacific region. The campaign will focus on raising awareness and understanding of Rackspace’s solutions and services among local business decision makers, as well as building the profiles of the company’s executives as thought leaders.

Tourist attraction The Singapore Flyer has extended its relationship with digital creative agency Noisycrayons to drive more Facebook and Twitter users to the Flyer. The agency, which previously worked on the tourist attraction’s online strategy, will now be integrating its online and offline marketing. Noisycrayons is planning a series of on-site activities such as the 'Flyer Entourage' that invites Facebook fans and Twitter followers to exclusive events.

Reading Room, the full-service digital agency, has hired former R/GA London planning director Adam Sefton as its chief strategy officer. In his new role, Sefton will shuttle between Singapore and London, pushing creative effectiveness for clients across geographies as the company expands its operations in Asia. In July this year, the digital agency opened an office in Melbourne, Australia. It started working out of Singapore only last year.

RedWorks Digital Services, the design unit of Oglivy & Mather, has appointed Gavin Hall as its regional vice president. Based in Singapore, Hall will help expand the business across the region as well as other cities in Asia including Bangalore, Ho Chi Minh and Beijing. Hall’s most recent role was at SingTel, where he was responsible for partner relationships for mobile applications.
