Edipresse appoints Zita Ong and April Hsu as MDs for Hong Kong and China, respectively

HONG KONG - International publishing group Edipresse has appointed Zita Ong and April Hsu as MDs of its Hong Kong and China office, respectively.

Both Ong (pictured) and Hsu will report to Barrie Goodridge, CEO of Edipresse Asia.

Ong brings with her over 17 years of publishing industry in the Asia Pacific region, including was previously held senior roles like MD of Mediacorp’s publishing arm, and regional sales and marketing director at ACP Magazines based in Singapore.

Meanwhile Hsu will be tasked to drive Edipresse China offices ambitious strategic plan in China, particularly the Tatler Shanghai title, which celeberated its 10th anniversary this month.

Hsu replaces Margaret Chuo-Piano who has been with Edipresse Asia for 20 years and will remain as a consultant to the company in Shanghai. Ong will be charged with driving the growth of the company’s business, which will see the continued and planned expansion of Edipresse's media and brand offerings in print, online and digital applications.

With over 14 years of solid experience in the publishing and media industry, Hsu started her career at Deloitte as an auditor, and moved to publishing as CFO at Hachette Filipacchi Taiwan. As MD of Hachette Filipacchi Taiwan, she launched ELLE Girl magazine, ELLE Accessories, built up the custom publishing division and  launched the websites of elle.com.tw and ellegirl.com.tw.

Goodridge said the new appointments are an integral part of the company’s aggressive investment plans for both Hong Kong and China, which will see Edipresse develop its business into new fields; to include Tatler brand extensions as well as further print, on-line and digital offerings in the luxury lifestyle category.

“We have a series of powerful ideas and significant investment into in Greater China market with an aim of establishing the best media for our discerning readers and luxury clients,” he added.
