The 2011 Hong Kong Cricket Sixes, in its 17th year this year, has extended from a two-day to three-day tournament this year. The programme has also been extended 12 international teams, up from eight in 2010.
It will be held at the Kowloon Cricket Club in October this year.
The tournament is inviting brands for title sponsorship.
Elite Step will be responsible for event promotion and publicity for the tournament. The agency says that one of the main challenges will be to bring cricket closer to the Chinese community and further growth in the interest of cricket in Hong Kong.
Currently India is the leading test cricket nation, followed by England. Other top cricket nations include Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka; although the sixes format is very different to traditional forms of the game.
Elite Step Asia has been having a good innings lately, with a steady stream of new account wins including the International Cricket Council (ICC) ‘s annual conference, UBS Hong Kong Open, the Bledisloe Cup, HSBC Asian 5 Nations and Hong Kong Tens.
