SHANGHAI - Five agencies—Carat, PHD, ZenithOptimedia, Walkon and GADA—are believed to be gearing up for Fiat's media pitch in China.

Five agencies believed in running for Fiat media pitch

No details have emerged about the scope of the business up for grabs or specific campaigns. “This is a media only pitch, but we still don’t know the details yet,” one agency source told Campaign Asia-Pacific.

According to Autonews Europe, Fiat so far has failed to establish its 500 model as a chic city car in China, despite a direct link to Italian luxury-goods maker Gucci. The 500 by Gucci Special Edition, which Fiat calls "a fashion statement you can drive", has had little effect on sales, and fewer than 600 units of the entire 500 range sold in China last year, according to Autonews Europe, citing IHS Automotive.
