A statement from Flamingo cites New York as the group’s “fastest growing business with a highly talented and ambitious triumvirate of managing partners already in place”.
Gage has led Singapore jointly with Adri Reksodipoetro, who will now become the sole MD.
The office works with clients such as Unilever, Diageo, PepsiCo, Marriott, MTV, YouTube and Twitter. According to Flamingo, Gage will bring “her expertise in client strategy, new business and innovation to take the US business forward in its next stage of development”.
“Emma’s cultural understanding of the complex Asia-Pacific region will be invaluable in helping translate global brand positionings and product and service innovations into culturally flexed ambitions and communication ideas,” the statement adds.
Gage joined Flamingo after a stint as head of planning at Naked London. She also worked at Kraft, Vodafone and the UK government. Under Gage and Reksodipoetro's leadership, Flamingo Singapore has grown at an annual rate of 30 per cent and attracted business from the likes of Samsung, The Walt Disney Company, Google and Friesland Campina. She is also credited with improving the office’s ability to attract top talent and maintain a 98 per cent staff retention rate.
Maggie Collier, Flamingo co-founder and global CEO, described Gage as “a talented leader … with vision, drive and humanity” and “an inspiring role model for her team … The success of Flamingo Singapore is testament to her abilities”.
In a recent article for Campaign Asia-Pacific, Gage suggested that many global brands might be off-beam in their efforts to engage with women in Southeast Asia through empowerment campaigns.
