SINGAPORE - The organisers of the Hall of Fame Awards 2012, which will be held on 30 November, have announced finalists for each category.

Organised by Institute of Advertising Singapore, the annual advertising awards celebrate outstanding achievements and breakthrough ideas in creative communications, and uphold the talents behind these works. Full details of the finalists are listed below.

Now into its 14th year, the awards have added a new category this year—the Innovation Awards—which comprises three awards: product innovation, marketing innovation and business innovation.

“Implementing an innovative idea calls for great courage and confidence as it is something untried and untested,” said Wong Mei Wai, chairman of the Hall of Fame Steering Committee. “We therefore want to recognise the innovators’ creativity and insight.”

This year’s Hall of Fame Awards saw a record number of 124 entries from 29 agencies, double the number from last year. Entries in the Digital Campaigns Award have increased significantly, which the Hall of Fame Awards said signals the burgeoning interest in digital works.

The winners of all four categories of awards – Individual Awards, Company Awards, Campaign Awards and Innovation Awards – will be unveiled at the ceremony.

In line with the “Superheroes of Singapore Advertising” theme, prizes will be awarded to the agency with the best superhero costumes. The event is sponsored by MediaCorp, Singapore Press Holdings, SMRT Media, SingTel iMedia and StarHub.

Last year, DDB and OMD were the overall winners at the Hall of Fame Awards 2011.
