Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel unveils new Grand Ballroom

Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel holds a unique position as an internationally acclaimed hotel on Lantau Island, which is also connected to AsiaWorld-Expo.

The hotel has made good on its promise of prestige by providing exceptional tech developments for business events. Its list of recent advances includes: a Meeting Services App allowing planners to communicate with the hotel’s in-house events team in real-time, and Marriott’s Meetings Imagined initiative which provides digital event upgrades such as smart event badges and gamification ideas.

New space for new needs

The hotel now houses the refreshed Grand Ballroom, complete with a full arsenal of refined technology for events groups. The space is equipped with multi-purpose LED lighting, with customisable colour settings to fit the mood and theme of events, and transform your meeting experience into a successful one.

Giving a boost to the visual capabilities of the space, an LCD projector boasting 10,000 ANSI lumens is available. The upgraded unit brings out the brightest whites and most vibrant colours in films and images. Two 230-inch screens and an additional three 158-inch screens are positioned throughout the 588-sqm ballroom, ensuring that keynote presentations or themed backdrops are in full view for delegates.

SkyCity Marriott recently launched a new package that takes full advantage of the Grand Ballroom’s tech capacities, using the hotel’s aforementioned camera and projector equipment to broadcast live events. In an industry that’s trending more and more towards digital – rather than physical – presence, video streaming is becoming standard for worldwide events, and the Grand Ballroom provides the perfect setting for the medium.

Special rates for the package are available for groups upon request, and an on-site team includes audio-visual and video conferencing specialists.

A history of excellence

Beyond SkyCity Marriott’s new developments, the hotel has long provided an ideal setting for events in Hong Kong, and continues to blaze a path forward for businesses that seek a fresh take on the corporate experience.

Five boardrooms and five meeting rooms provide additional scalable space for breakout rooms or more intimate events, and also incorporate state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and tech support. Sky Zone, a multi-functional space serves as a prime location for cocktail receptions, and for much larger groups, the hotel itself is directly connected and within a 5-minute walking distance of Hong Kong’s second largest convention centre, AsiaWorld-Expo.

Apart from the well-equipped MICE facilities, Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel also offers a refreshing escape from the bustling city. The hotel provides luxurious accommodations with 658 guest rooms, and spa treaments at the award-winning Quan Spa.

Wide-ranging dining options are available to cater to every palate. The hotel’s own Man Ho Chinese Restaurant offers a contemporary take on dim sum and seafood, SkyCity Bistro serves a sumptuous international buffet and a la carte menu, and Velocity Bar & Grill provides burgers, beers and grilled specialities for winding down post-event. All restaurants and bars are equipped with wireless broadband Internet access, which enable delegates to stay connected while enjoying meals or drinks.

Transportation to the hotel is a breeze as the hotel is located next to the Hong Kong International Airport and is just a 28-minute train ride (via the Airport Express) from Central. Complimentary shuttle bus service is also available to the airport, Tung Chung MTR station and Hong Kong Disneyland. For those searching for daytime exploration or a bit of cultural immersion, Citygate Outlets and the city’s iconic Tian Tan Buddha are also within easy reach of the hotel.
