Havis Media Ortega integrates two of Havas Media’s existing agencies in the Philippines, MPG and Media Contacts, with Collab and digital and mobile marketing agency Mobext (formerly Snapworx), which was acquired in January.

Jos Ortega will become chairman and CEO of the new agency. Ortega stepped down from his position as CEO of JWT Manila in March to pursue a personal venture. He is most recently founder and chairman of BrandLab.

Tonypet Sarmiento will remain as CEO of Collab and Hermie de Leon, former CEO of Omnicom Media Group, will continue as CEO of MPG Philippines.

Eduardo Mapa Jr., a founding member of the Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines, will retain his title as CEO of Media Contact Philippines.

Vishnu Mohan, CEO of Havas Media APAC, said the digitalisation of media and convergency of technology has created a “totally new and constantly changing media landscape” that requires new solutions.

He said, “While many other organisations are broken into silos that don’t allow them to have a systemic view on communications activity, Havas Media Ortega’s new integrated structure allows the teams to work across both disciplines and platforms to create deeper more meaningful campaigns for clients.”

Alfonso Rodés Vilà, CEO of Havas Media, added that the launch is part of a wider vision to build a “strong and powerful” Havas Media operation in the “markets of the future”.

“As one of the top ten social media markets in the world and with a predicted double digit growth rate, the Philippines is certainly one of these markets.”
