The agency will now be jointly managed by Miriam Pangan, client services director; Dave Ferrer, executive creative director; Jeff Sulit, the CFO; as well as Pam Garcia, executive planning director, until a new CEO is identified.

Michael Maedel, president of JWT Asia Pacific, said, “I’d like to thank Jos for all the hard work he has put in during his four-year tenure with JWT. I wish him all his best in his new adventures.”

He went on to say that the agency has a very strong management team. “I have every confidence in their ability to provide continuity and maintain the agency’s upward trajectory as we move forward,” he added.

Ortega concurred. “We have built an enviable collaborative culture and environment that creates the best solutions for our clients.”

Ortega joined JWT Manila in 2008 as CEO. He was one of the founding members at BBDO Guerrero Ortega in 1998 and worked as vice chairman until 2004, before moving to BrandLab. He was also previously with Ogilvy & Mather as strategic planning director.

The advertising and marketing industry in the Philippines has seen several management changes recently. Earlier, Ogilvy & Mather promoted chief executive officer Randy Aquino to the role of vice chairman in the Philippines, replacing the recently retired Tim Isaac.

At Omnicom Media Group (OMG) Philippines, president and CEO Hermie De Leon stepped down last month to join MPG Philippines, after seven years with the network.

OMG Philippines also named Regie Gavino as the head of Ignition Factory, an ideation house servicing clients within the group.
