Sethi's appointment will allow him to partner with Param Saikia, CEO of JWT Malaysia, who was appointed in December last year to the position, as well as Edwin Leong, ECD/ deputy chairman, JWT Malaysia.

An MBA graduate, Sethi has over 17 years of diversified, cross-cultural strategic planning and management experience. He first came to Malaysia in early 2000 and has since been responsible for setting up and heading the strategic planning functions in McCann Erickson, Bates and Grey Malaysia.

Sethi said he was thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with Saikia and Leong to achieve thought leadership in consumer understanding and brand development in the country.

“Kapil completes the management team at JWT Malaysia," said Leong. "His extensive experience will add depth and focus to our brands as we continue to guide our clients and grow the agency for the future.”

Saikia pointed to Sethi's wealth of client understanding and insight and a track record of working with some of the top clients in Malaysia. “He is the perfect partner in growing our planning department and agency overall,” he noted.

In May this year, JWT Malaysia picked Uzz Taufek as its group account director. Earlier in February, Hans Lee returned to the agency as associate creative director.
