Based in Singapore, Bishop will lead the team across Southeast Asia and is responsible for helping advertisers get better value out of the social platform.

Bishop has been with the company for over four years, and most recently served as head of marketing, APAC. He takes over from Myung-Jo Choi, who is now head of ecommerce for Asia Pacific at Facebook.

In a statement released announcing the appointment, Dan Neary, APAC vice president for Facebook, noted that Southeast Asia is an important region for the company.

He added that the company boasts new innovations around video, commerce, and messaging that have been tailored to serve the needs of local businesses in these fast-growing emerging markets.

“[Bishop’s] experience in the region and vision for Southeast Asia will help us strengthen our partnership and support for local businesses in this dynamic mobile-first region,” Neary said. “Facebook is where people in Southeast Asia primarily connect to businesses on their mobile phones, and with [Bishop’s] leadership we’re committed to working with our partners to drive this growth.”

Prior to his tenure as head of marketing, Bishop was head of client solutions, APAC, and helped support advertisers and agencies across the region, and played a role in contributing to Facebook's overall growth and expansion in the region.
