SHANGHAI - Maxus has appointed managing director of Kineo Marketing Innovation, Nico Abbruzzese (pictured) to the newly created role of head of digital for Asia-Pacific.

Maxus hires Nico Abbruzzese as regional head of digital
Based in Shanghai, Abbruzzese will join in late-August from the STW Group in Australia, where he was managing Kineo.

Prior to founding Kineo, he held a number of senior strategy and executive digital producer roles at RMG Connect and OgilvyOne, and had worked on clients including Vodafone, CommSec and Toyota.

Neil Stewart, CEO of Maxus Asia-Pacific, said that Nico was joining the agency at “an exciting time”. The agency, hitherto little more than a conflict shop in most Asian markets, is seeking to build a bigger presence

He added: “Having someone of Nico’s experience to work with some of our major clients like BoCom and Haier in China, and our other increasingly active digital clients across the region, is very exciting.”

Abbruzzese will also join the GroupM regional digital council across the group in the region.

Mark Patterson, GroupM Asia-Pacifc CEO , said: "Nico is another great addition for our regional digital ‘brains trust’. We are now like the Real Madrid of the Asian digital media scene, without the limitless funds I admit, but with very lofty ambitions all the same. "
