McCann Worldgroup appoints new MD in Beijing

BEIJING - Eliot Lin has been appointed as managing director at McCann Worldgroup Beijing, effective immediately.

For the past 10 years, Lin has been leading McCann Erickson's Taiwan operations.

In his new role, reporting to Greater China CEO TH Peng, Lin will oversee all operations in Beijing, including building client relationships and creating partnerships that will enable new revenue streams and opportunities for McCann Worldgroup's clients.

Lin takes over from June Lyloc who is currently on an extended sabbatical.

Speaking of the appointment, Peng said, "Eliot is a natural leader. He fully understands how to articulate our clients goals into advertising and marketing solutions. His strong entrepreneurial spirit, first class client relationship skills and proven business acumen will strengthen McCann Erickson’s transformation as the worlds leading marketing solutions network.”

Lin added that he is excited to lead the Beijing team. “I know most of the China leadership team as well as the McCann culture, so there’s no learning curve other than getting up to speed on our clients' objectives.”

Elsewhere Gary Chi has been promoted to general manager of McCann Worldgroup Taiwan. He has been with IPG agencies for the last ten years and EVP of the Taiwan office since 2008.

“As I assume my new role in Beijing, I have the utmost confidence that Gary will ensure a seamless transition of our business in Taiwan,” said Lin. “He is well liked by our clients and staff which will make the transition a n easy one.  Gary will focus on ensuring improved integration of ME, Momentum and MRM as well as continue to grow our business in Taiwan.”
