MP & Silva has promoted Suhyeon Cho, previously managing director for Japan and Korea, to a global role as chief commercial officer.
Cho joined the company in 2008. As MD for Japan and Korea, he established MP & Silva in the sports media-rights markets in his countries and played a key role in distributing Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, La Liga and FA Cup football, as well as WBSC Premier 12 bseball and World Baseball Classic, according to the company.
In his new role, based in London, he will be responsible for driving the group’s commercial strategy in cooperation with group executive directors Konstantinos Filippas and Roland Nikolaou.
Jochen Lösch, CEO of MP & Silva, cited Cho's "unparalleled business skills" and said the company was proud to convince him to stay despite "numerous competitors and blue-chip companies" trying to lure him away.
"MP & Silva has a stellar portfolio of media rights, expanding sponsorship and digital divisions, and a strong network of trusted clients and partners," Cho said.
MP & Silva is in the process of appointing a new MD for Japan and Korea.
