Villar's departure becomes effective on 30 June. He was named managing director of McCann Erickson Philippines in 2006 and was promoted to his current position when Patricia 'Ricki' Arches, the then chairman and chief executive officer of McCann Worldgroup Philippines, announced her retirement.

Villar started his career at McCann Erickson in 1992 as an account executive, and has since held various roles within the organisation during his 20-year tenure. He became vice-president for strategic planning/chief strategy officer after working at McCann’s head office in New York in 1999. He was subsequently brought on board McCann’s Asia-Pacific Strategic Planning Council and McCann’s executive committee.

Raul Castro, executive chairman and chief executive officer at McCann Worldgroup Philippines, said, “Nandy’s 20 year journey at McCann is achievement-laden. He has contributed much to the business and the industry, which witnessed his rise from a young talent into a resolute leader. His passion and tireless energy has been a driving force within our industry in the Philippines. We thank Nandy for his contributions and we wish him well in his future endeavors.”

Villar also served as chairman of the Association of the Accredited Advertising Agencies of the Philippines (4A), vice-chairman of the Advertising Board of the Philippines and board member of the Ad Standards Council, while also holding key positions in the Agency of the Year Awards and the Advertising Congress Programs Committee.
