In the key leadership position, Oltchick will work to refocus the agency's business. Leveraging global and regional UM resources, the appointment is expected to drive new business acquisitions and incremental diversified revenue growth on existing clients, according to the company.

Oltchick will work to build on the agency's strengths with a focus on new media and communication areas, including digital and other diversified product offerings.

Oltchick reports directly to Raul Castro, executive chairman of MWG Philippines, and Prashant Kumar, president of IPG Mediabrands, World Markets Asia.

Kumar noted that as the agency seeks to raise its game in The Philippines, Oltchick’s seasoned perspective will give the right agility and credibility to steer the company into the future.

“Bruce is a veteran navigator of creative, content, media and consulting, with deep and diverse international experience across some of the most challenging clients in our business,” Kumar said.

Commenting on his appointment, Oltchick said, “I am very pleased to be working with UM. There is already an exceptional team in Manila and I look forward to bringing my expertise and leadership to the region. It’s an important role and one where I plan to leverage my previous experience in order to drive new business and grow the agency.”

Prior to joining UM, he was the founder and CEO of BAO Consulting, a Hong-Kong-based consultancy dedicated to research, media and branding business solutions, where he managed several media, retail and various marcomms projects across Asia.

He also previously worked as EVP of advertising sales, distribution, research and marketing at Star Group Limited Asia-Pacific, and as the senior vice-president of client services, strategic planning and business development at Grey Global Group Asia-Pacific.
