Danielle Curtis is Reed Travel Exhibition’s (RTE) new exhibition director for the Middle East region. She will handle IBTM Arabia, the Arabian Travel Market and associated projects in the region under RTE.

Curtis has had 15 years of experience in the industry with a lot of time spent within the IBTM portfolio. She was previously contract exhibition manager for the Arabian Travel Market, part of RTE, with responsibility for the event strategy of the exhibition. Prior to that, she was event manager for The Hotel Show Dubai and global head of sales for the IBTM portfolio.

“The meetings and events market in the Middle East is still very much in the ascendant. Confidence in the region is continuing to grow, as evidenced by major upcoming events like the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022 and the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi in 2019,” she said.

“As well as increasing diversification in terms of the scope and scale of meetings and events and new industries coming to the Middle East, the region itself is really opening up.”

She added that Saudi Arabia and Oman are also making their mark in the industry and raising their profiles as viable competitors.
