The Maharashtra Government made the call to suspend delivery until March 31 after a meeting with the Newspaper Vendor Association

Newspaper deliveries on hold in Mumbai
Newspaper delivery will be shut in Mumbai until March 31st.

The call was taken after a meeting between the Maharashtra Government, Newspaper Vendor Association and company officials.

This follows complaints that vendor associations had stopped delivering papers.

On 23 March, CM Uddhav Thackeray had listed print under essentials and stated that establisments could remain open in the lockdown period.

Now, Subhash Desai, state minister, has taken the decision to stop delivery of newspapers till 31 March. Online editions of the papers will continue to be made available.

A review meeting will be conducted after 31 March to learn the next steps.
