Publicis Beijing appoints Mark Chung as ECD

BEIJING - Publicis Beijing has appointed Mark Chung as ECD, replacing outgoing ECD Keat Soh who resigned this month after being with the company since 2009.

Chung start at Publicis on 19 July, and report to Rayne Chow, GM of Publicis Beijing. He will handle key accounts like LG and HP.

Chung is a Singaporean with over 15 years of 4A agency experience in Singapore, Japan. He has scooped over 150 international awards for campaigns he has crafted for major MNCs brands in the region, including P&G, Philips Morris, HP, Nokia, McDonald's and GM. Chung also has extensive experience in the mobile industry campaigns.

Chung most recently held the engagement ECD role at Beacon Communications (Leo Burnett) in Japan from 2008 to 2010. Prior to this he was regional CD of Arc Worldwide (Leo Burnett) in Singapore, where he managed the creative work in its 14 offices around the Asia-Pacific region.

"With clients putting greater focus on ROI, I am pleased to join Publicis Beijing to bring my experience to look at new creative ways of engaging the consumer outside traditional mass media and to develop contagious ideas that change the conversation," said Chung.

In addition, the digital arm of Publicis Publicis Modem Beijing has welcomed 18-year-computer graphic veteran Shawn Gao as multimedia director, who hailed from Euro RSCF 4D Field Force and Enfatico. Gao worked for Publicis Beijing from 2003 to 2007, where he was interactive creative director from 2003 to 2007.

Gao will report to Mark and Vivian Yeung, the general manager of Publicis Modem.
