Publicis Groupe hires McCann talent for new managing director role in Indonesia

Publicis Groupe Indonesia has hired Chetan Shetty as managing director for Growth, effective immediately. Shetty is a McCann and FCB Jakarta veteran. He jumps into this newly created role to fast-track client impact in one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing economies.

Shetty brings over two decades of experience to the role; most recently as managing director at McCann and FCB Jakarta, he helped brands reach their digital ambitions. Prior, he was the partner – Content at Wavemaker (GroupM) Jakarta. Over his career, Shetty has launched content divisions, built influencer practices, and led award-winning digital transformations for major brands.

Publicis confirmed to Campaign that the Growth role is entirely new and not a replacement. It will focus on integrating data, media, and content to drive client growth. Mudit Trivedi remains managing director of Publicis Communications, while Saravanan (Savy) Mudaliar continues as the media MD for the agency. Alongside Trivedi and Mudaliar, Shetty will help introduce new capabilities to accelerate client growth and digital transformation. All three managing directors report to Sony Nichani, CEO of Publicis Groupe Indonesia.

“In a time of major marketing shifts fueled by tech innovations and changing consumer behaviours, we’re investing in leaders who drive transformative integration for our clients. Shetty's expertise in content and media will further unify our Groupe capabilities and help clients achieve outstanding business results,” said CEO Sony Nichani.

Alongside Shetty's appointment, Publicis Groupe Indonesia has strengthened its creative bench at Leo Indonesia with two key appointments. Nadia Yuliani joins as senior creative director.  She’s an Ogilvy Indonesia and M&C Saatchi (now Moonfoks) alum with over 20 years of industry experience. Yuliani will collaborate closely with creative partner William Mathovani.

Nadia Yuliani and Carlos Guto Kono join Leo Indonesia as senior creative directors.

Carlos Guto Kono also joins Leo Indonesia as senior creative director, bringing 25 years of international experience across Brazil, Mexico, South Korea and Germany. He has earned accolades at prestigious award shows and will report to Ravi Shanker, chief creative officer of Leo Indonesia and Publicis Groupe Indonesia. Both creative appointments are effective immediately.
