Effective 1 March, the Rapp Asia relocation to Shanghai comes on the back of new business wins which include McDonald’s, Unilever and Weight Watchers. The move also demonstrates Rapp’s aggressive growth strategy for the region.

John Zeigler, chairman and CEO of DDB Group Asia-Pacific, said that moving the entire regional Rapp HQ to Shanghai is a massive investment, but one he is confident will pay off immediately.

“Data driven marketing is a growing discipline any where in the world, to have our HQ based in China puts us in good stead to tackle this huge market,” said Zeigler.

“Rapp has a strong presence in Singapore and the Southeast region, evidenced by our recent Agency of the Year win. Our focus now needs to be on bedding down business and growing our footprint in markets that are screaming out for Rapp’s specialists services,” he added.

Ziegler went on to say he anticipates China will become the base to grow other opportunities in North Asian markets like Korea and Japan.

Describing exciting times for the brand, Mohammed Sirajuddeen, Rapp Asia CEO, said that with (already) successful agencies in Southeast Asia, it’s only natural that Rapp would set its sights on also being the leading data driven marketing in Greater China.

Globally, Rapp is the leader in data-driven marketing and analytics. Its ability to connect with the true value of that data is the key point of difference against other players within the industry. Data-driven insights form the foundation of great ideas, hence data-driven marketing - understanding and responding to the complexities of the needs and desires of the consumer - helps produce more effective results for the agency and the client.

A fundamental element of DDB Group Asia-Pacific, Rapp is a powerful data driven marketing company that combines data, digital and analytics to drive comprehensive client centric solutions. There are 16 offices across the Asia Pacific region including Singapore, Shanghai, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, Mumbai, Bangalore, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Wellington, Taipei, Bangkok, Seoul and Manila.
