With the win, Rapp will be responsible for leading consumer insight development and competitive analysis for Weight Watchers programmes, as well as consult on brand and market positioning.

Judy Zhu, marketing director for Weight Watchers China, said it selected Rapp due to its strong planning capability, creativity, and an experienced team in branding and positioning.

Weight Watchers China was established in 2008, operating four centres in Shanghai and one in Nanjing. The company holds over 45,000 meetings across the globe each week where members receive group support and learn about healthy eating patterns, behaviour modification and physical activity.

"We're excited to be working closely with Weight Watcher's local and international teams and look forward to a lasting partnership. Rapp has the experience to support the company with its long-term, sustainable business model in China that goes beyond just communications," noted Michelle Tan, business director of Rapp China.
