SINGAPORE - London-based sports radio station talkSPORT has entered into a partnership with sports marketing agency Red Card to launch Red Card Sports Radio next month.

Available on multiple platforms, including desktops, tablets and smartphones for iOS and Android users, the launch of the radio station will allow fans to hear talkSPORT’s official Barclays Premier League, FA Cup and Capital One Cup radio commentary for the next three season (2013/14 – 2015/16).

Scott Taunton, CEO at talkSPORT, noted that the global audio partner of Barclays Premier League has seen a huge appetite for its commentary globally.

To be launched on 11 August to celebrate Singapore’s National Day and Hari Raya Puasa, the curtain raiser of Red Card Sports Radio will be the FA Community Shield match between Premier League champions Manchester United and FA Cup winners Wigan Athletic.

R Sasikumar, managing director at Red Card, noted that the launch of the radio station will mark the first dedicated sports radio station in the country, where fans are allowed to access content and listen to live commentary of Barclays Premier League matches for free.

“It will also reach out to people on the go, the content is available on mobile devices, apps and on the internet,” he added.

Red Card Sports Radio will also broadcast talkSPORT’s official match commentary live from the UK, in English, Mandarin and Malay; as well as a weekly Barclays Premier League preview show in English.

Red Card Sports Radio will also produce local sports programmes, by engaging regional presenters to express their opinions about football matters, covering both the international football scene as well as the local and regional competition, through call-ins and social media.
