Prior to the opening of the Lion City’s two integrated resorts, the Marina Bay Sands next year and Resorts World at Sentosa in 2010, the Council is looking to launch communications to increase public awareness of problem gambling among families, the elderly and youth as well as promoting its telephone helpline.

The Council, which is part of the Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports, had called the estimated S$2.5 million (US$1.7 million) tender in early October. Its annual advertising contract, currently with Y&R, will run out by the end of 2008.
