Eurocopter confirmed that Yip will join the company on 1 January 2011 as head of media relations Asia.

She will report to Paris-based Cecile Vion-Lanctuit, Eurocopter’s global vice president of corporate communications.

At SPENA, Yip reported to general manager Ricky Ow, who was unable to comment on Yip’s departure.

Yip joined the pan-regional pay-TV network early in 2005, initially as senior manager of communications, before being promoted to communications director.

Established in 1997 and based in Singapore, SPE Networks Asia operates a total of seven channel brands in the region, all wholly-owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment. Its portfolio of channels include four ad-supported 24/7 channels and two movies-on-demand channels.

The Eurocopter group was created in1992 after the merger between the helicopter divisions of Aerospatiale-matra (France) and DaimlerChrysler Aerospace (Germany). The group is now a subsidiary owned 100 per cent by EADS (European Aeronautic, Defense and Space Company), one of the three largest aerospace groups in the world.
