Starcom's Joanna Chan-Mojica steps up as MD in the Philippines

MANILA - Starcom Mediavest (SMG) has promoted deputy managing director Joanna Chan-Mojica to the role of managing director to helm the agency’s operations in the Philippines.

Earlier this year, Mojica was elevated to the deputy role to lead the agency following Lizelle Maralag’s move to GMA Marketing.

In her new role, effective immediately, Mojica will be responsible for driving SMG’s business, key accounts and diversification plans while functioning as senior counsel to key clients. She will continue to report to Jeffrey Seah, CEO Southeast Asia at Starcom MediaVest Group. 

On her promotion, Seah, who is also the chairperson of Starcom's Asia Digital Leadership Team, said, “Joanna belongs to a new breed of leaders that the industry needs to thrive. Her indomitable spirit and determination combined with new world ideals, will invigorate our local operations, evolve our services and develop the multi-skilled talent that is crucial for the industry in the Philippines."

Mojica joined SMG in January 2008. She is a media and communications specialist with over 15 years' experience including stints at GroupM, Mindshare, JWT Philippines and Coca-Cola. 

On her appointment, Mojica responded, “I am very excited for my new role. Having witnessed the rapid changes and growth in this industry, I believe we at Starcom MediaVest Group Philippines are poised for greater things ahead.”
