The channel’s managing director for Asia, Alexandre Muller, noted that the online service would help overcome the constraints of time zones for expatriate viewers.

“This online TV will give them the opportunity to watch their favourite programmes whatever their time zone,” Muller said in a statement.

The service will be available free of charge and will feature an initial 70 hours of content, progressing to 100 from 2010. An additional 30 hours of programming will subsequently be available every month.

Featured titles will include The Magic Roundabout, Spirou and Fantasio and Cedric, among others.
