UPDATE: McCann Worldgroup Southeast Asia head Mark Ingrouille to depart

SINGAPORE - Mark Ingrouille, the area director of Southeast Asia at McCann Worldgroup is leaving the agency.

UPDATE: McCann Worldgroup Southeast Asia head Mark Ingrouille to depart
Ingrouille's departure is rumoured to be part of a wider regional restructure initiated by McCann's new Asia-Pacific head Michael McLaren, who joined the agency after the departure of Kevin Ramsey.

Senior executives at the network were informed of the decision this morning. It is believed that Ingrouille does not have a job to go to. He will remain with the network until February 2010.

No replacement has been announced. Heads of local offices, such as McCann Worldgroup's COO in Thailand Monica White, will now report directly into McLaren. The post of Southeast Asia area director will not be replaced.

Tony Savarimuthu, CEO of McCann Malaysia, will also take over the Singapore office in an interim capacity until a new Singapore chief is appointed.

"Mark has made a great contribution to our business in the Southeast Asia region over a long period of time. He has helped us
to create the McCann Worldgroup structure in the region, build our disciplines, and nurture strong client relationships," said McLaren. "As we see the marketplace continue to evolve, we are going to increasingly focus resources at the local market level. We are lucky that we have an excellent management team already in place in the region who will be able to keep driving the agency forward. We wish Mark all the best in his future endeavors."

Ingrouille took on the role of Southeast Asia area director from Sorab Mistry in November 2007. Prior to taking on the regional role he was heading McCann’s Thailand operations.

Early in his tenure the agency resigned its client NTUC.

"I’m proud of the legacy we’ve built. The progress we’ve made in Thailand, in Singapore and in the Southeast Asia region has been amazing," said Ingrouille. "We have created a Worldgroup structure, started disciplines, won many clients, won many awards and built a business that is the envy of our industry."
