UPS names Christopher Grubb as head of marketing for Asia

SINGAPORE - UPS has appointed Christopher Grubb (pictured) as vice-president of UPS Asia-Pacific, leading the logistics company's marketing in the region.

UPS names Christopher Grubb as head of marketing for Asia
Grubb takes over from Joseph Guerrisi, who served in the same position for five years and has taken on a new role at the company’s headquarters in Atlanta.

Based in Singapore, he will oversee all marketing, retail, advertising and public relations activities in the region.

Prior to this, he was the customer relationship management and planning director for Europe where he managed customer communication, CRM programmes and systems development for over 100 countries throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Grubb began his career with UPS in 1989 as a part-time package handler and assumed a full-time position in 1994 as marketing supervisor. In 1996, he joined the corporate marketing group in Atlanta and held various positions of increasing responsibility.

Derek Woodward, president, UPS Asia-Pacific, said: “Chris’ solid experience in customer relations, and communications and marketing, will greatly benefit the team here. We have every confidence he will be an effective asset as we continue to strengthen UPS’ position as the leading supply chain and freight services provider in Asia.”

Grubb added: “I look forward to building upon the successes the team here has had and growing the UPS brand further. I am very excited by the opportunities that Asia, as a fast-moving and diverse business environment, has to offer.”

UPS initiated a global review of its US$200 million advertising account in April this year. The review covers global advertising, media buying, relationship marketing and digital services.

Ogilvy & Mather's participation in the global UPS pitch is expected to be the reason behind its resignation of the DHL account this week.
