According to a statement from the agency, the appointments “complete the management team for W&K Tokyo”. The pair will work alongside managing director Trish Adams (middle).

The agency’s client portfolio includes Nike, Google, Delta Airlines, Otsuka Pharmaceutical, Eli Lilly and Mori Development, among others.

Hahn has joined the Tokyo office from Wieden & Kennedy Shanghai, where he was executive creative director between 2006 and 2008; prior to that, he served as art director and creative director at Wieden & Kennedy Amsterdam.

Ito was previously creative director at GT Tokyo, where he worked alongside clients such as Nike, Sony and Uniqlo.

John C Jay, Wieden & Kennedy’s global executive creative director, said that the two constituted a “powerful force, able to blend the art of storytelling with craft and technology”.

The appointments are effective immediately.
