Koshino has a long history of creative achievements in Japan. While at DYR Japan in 1997, he won the Grand Prix at Cannes for his work on Volvo’s safety pin campaign. In 2001, he founded independent agency Gram, while two years later he joined Pat Fallon at the core of Fallon Japan. Here, he took the role of president and chief creative officer, resigning at the end of 2008.

His position at the newly launched M&C Saatchi base
will see him working on accounts such as Mitsibushi, Callaway Golf and Fukuoka.

Announcing Koshino’s imminent arrival, M&C Saatchi’s CEO of Asia Chris Jaques (left) said: “Tamio is one of Japan’s greatest creative talents, he is an inspirational leader and a wonderful friend. I am absolutely thrilled that he has agreed to join the amazing team at the heart of the most exciting new creative agency in Tokyo.”

Koshino added: “The opportunity to join my friends at M&C Saatchi is impossible to resist. Together, we are determined to create a new kind of agency - an agency driven by ideas which create results for our client partners, and make a positive difference to society.”

In addition to his success as a creative, Koshino has written more than 10 books for children, which have been published in several languages in Europe as well as Japan.

He will assume his role at M&C Saatchi in April.
