His departure comes while Yahoo is undergoing a major change under its latest CEO, Marissa Mayer, a Google veteran who took over in July last year. She is Yahoo’s fifth permanent or interim CEO since 2008.

Tadanki joined Yahoo India as MD in 2009, and took up responsibility for the Southeast Asia region in December 2011. The additional markets include Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, The Philippines and Vietnam.

Prior to his stint in Yahoo, Tadanki was president at Monster.com for the APAC and Middle East operations for seven years. He also previously worked as head of the culinary business at Nestle India, where he spent eight years.

An MBA graduate from IIM-Ahmedabad and an engineering degree holder from IIT-Madras, Tadanki said in a statement from Yahoo that he is looking forward to playing a very different role within the internet ecosystem, beyond this region.

No further details were provided about his plans, or who will replace him.
